There is no degree per se in "language." You can take a degree in a language, depending on what is offered at the school you attend. You could major in French, Italian, Russia or Mandarin Chinese, say, and minor in another language; or you could do a dual major and complete the major requirements for two different languages. You can major in French Literature, or English Renaissance Literature, or Spanish Literature or Russian Literature, etc. as a major in your study of French or Russian, etc. There is no requirement for a specific number of languages in order to earn a degree in French or Portuguese, for example.
